LHCSD Response to the Canyon Fire in Anaheim Hills, California

The La Habra City School District is monitoring today’s air quality conditions as reported through the South Coast Air Quality Management District along with the Orange County Department of Education.

LHCSD has advised each school to limit outdoor activities today due to air quality conditions and to take precautionary steps for those students with known respiratory or heart-related conditions and to consider having these students limited to "indoor only" activities for today. Schools are being asked to limit physical education activities to "indoor only" activities. Students will be permitted to go outside for recess, but will be limited to non-strenuous activities only. Additionally, we realize that each school site may be experiencing different air quality based on their geographic location and school administration will monitor each school's air quality.

La Habra City School District will continue to monitor these events and provide further updates as needed. To view current air quality conditions in your neighborhood see http://www3.aqmd.gov/webappl/gisaqi2.
