Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

Local Control Accountability Plan targets resources to students

In 2013, the State of California made major changes to the way school districts across the state are funded.  The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) increases school funding and directs more resources to highest-need students.  The LCFF requires districts to develop Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs) that establish annual goals for all students, describe what actions will be taken to achieve these goals, and detail how funds will be spent to increase or improve services.

La Habra City School District’s LCAP is aligned to the School Board’s Strategic Plan with a focus on Academic Excellence, Business and Finance, Parent/Community Partnerships, Human Resources Development, and School Safety & Student Wellness.  The input of local stakeholders is reflected in the LCAP which must be annually reviewed and updated.

Some priorities that have been implemented in 2016-2017 are: continuing the gradual reduction in class size in grades K-3; the addition of academic coaches to support mathematics, additional teacher training and support in the implementation of the California State Standards, Technology Integration, and Visual and Performing Arts.

We are very excited to have the additional funding to support and enhance our outstanding programs.  As we begin the process of our LCAP annual review and update, your input is very important to us.  Please access the ‘Let’s Talk’ tab on our District website at www.lahabraschools.org to help us make our programs stronger to meet the needs of all of our students.
