Washington Middle School Unveils New Fitness Zone in Collaboration with St. Jude Hospital

It was a wonderful day of celebration for the La Habra City School District as Principal Dr. Ed Resnick and the Washington Middle School Patriots unveiled their new fitness zone on their lower field. The new area included 12 pieces of outdoor fitness equipment by Greenfields Outdoor Fitness. The ribbon cutting celebration including members of the La Habra City School District Board of Education: Vice President Sandi Baltes, Members Jon Dobson and Adam Rodgers, LHCSD Superintendent, Dr. Joanne Culverhouse, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Theresa Egan, Orange County Department of Education, Hillcrest Wellness Center, St. Jude Hospital and parents.

Washington Middle School new fitness zone would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of St. Jude Hospital.  Now, Washington Middle School students at various levels of fitness can enjoy activity during their Physical Education classes, at break and lunch while socializing with their peers. The new fitness zone will also serve as joint-use area, giving the rest of the community of La Habra the chance to enjoy the equipment after school hours.  The La Habra City School District is excited to continue educating our students on the importance of eating right and staying active.  The Washington Middle School fitness zone provides students, families and members of the community a wonderful place to exercise and be active, encouraging a life of good health and wellness.
