The Orange County Department of Education held its 7th Annual Language Learner Celebration at the Marconi Center in Tustin. Nominees are recognized for their outstanding and significant contributions to Language Learners. We congratulate both Cristina and Summer on their recognitions and thank them for making a positive impact on student and parent lives.
Cristina Jarrin serves as the Community Liaison at Ladera Palma Dual Immersion Academy. She has been instrumental in empowering parents and building strong community relationships. Parent participation at Ladera Palma has skyrocketed through her leadership, as she provides a welcoming environment in which parents feel immediately connected with the school community. She works collaboratively with teachers and all staff for the benefit of our students.
Summer Villegas is a teacher at Washington Middle School. She provides a caring and nurturing environment for all her students. Her personal connections and never quit attitude is contagious as she supports other teachers, and staff for the betterment of student academic and social success. Summer also gives freely of her time to support her students in afterschool programs, on weekend extracurricular activities, and is a champion for students struggling academically and socially.
