Board of Education
Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! La Habra City School District provides our students with a comprehensive and innovative educational program. Our educational program strives to provide our students a curriculum that supports in mastering the essential skills of reading, communication, mathematics, and literacy.
La Habra City School District continues to support our students by providing academic coaches in the areas of Mathematics and Literacy and this year an academic coach will be housed at each school site. We have also added a counselor to each middle school that will provide our students the access to a developmentally appropriate and comprehensive guidance-counseling program focused on academic success, personal and social development, and career and college readiness.
We have expanded our Visual and Performing Arts Program by collaborating with organizations like Disney and Fibo. In technology, we have maintained 1:1 iPads 24 hours 7 days a week for all Middle School students and added more devices for students K-5. Understanding the importance of the health and wellness of our students, we continue to expand our Physical Education program by adding Physical Education teachers and assistants. Our Dual Immersion program continues to strive at Arbolita and expanding to 3rd grade.
We will continue to utilize our Bilingual Community Liaison at each site to strengthen relationships with parents and the community to increase service and support that will enable our students’ success.
We are very proud of our School Readiness program in receiving a Golden Bell Award for their Building Blocks program. Our School Readiness program continues to offer a variety of classes and curriculum to support parents in providing their children early childhood educational development skills.
We have all the elements necessary for our district to become the “Destination District”: outstanding and dedicated teachers and support staff, parents who participate at home and at school, students who are eager to learn, and a supportive community. Let us make this an exciting and successful year.
