Welcome, students and families, to the exciting 2016-2017 school year! La Habra City School District continues to lead the way in providing our students a comprehensive and innovative educational program. We will continue to implement the Common Core Standards, which provide a relevant curriculum that supports reading complex texts, writing, thinking, and real-world problem solving and innovation.
Last year we expanded the support provided by literacy coaches. This year we will be adding Academic coaches for Math. We continue to strive for improvement in student achievement in both Math and Language Arts.
The Dual Immersion program at Arbolita continues to do well as it enters its 3rd year. Our Physical Education program, including the Fit-Kid Centers and expanded Physical Education staff, is working in concert with La Habra City’s initiative to Move More-Eat Healthy. We continue to expand student access to technology. We are proud that El Cerrito School was honored as a Gold Ribbon School. Washington Middle School’s Water Guardians were honored by the California State Legislature bringing honor to Washington, the District, and the City of La Habra.
With all of these elements in place, coupled with outstanding and dedicated teachers, strong support staff, parents who participate at home and at school, and students who are willing and eager to learn, we are looking forward to a most successful learning year!
We welcome and thank you for your continued support and input.
