La Habra City School District selects Mr. Erik Bagger as the new principal for Imperial Middle School and Ms. Emily Flesher as the new Director of Special Programs and Assessment

 

La Habra, CA - The La Habra City School District (LHCSD) Board of Education is pleased to announce that following a thorough search, Mr. Erik Bagger has been selected as the new principal of Imperial Middle School.  The Board is also pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Emily Flesher as the new Director of Special Programs and Assessment.  These selections are a result of the District’s reorganization after the appointment of Dr. Mario A. Carlos to Superintendent and the recent retirement of Ms. Cathy Seighman, current Imperial Middle School principal. Mr. Bagger and Ms. Flesher will begin to serve LHCSD in their new roles on July 1, 2022. 

Mr. Erik Bagger has over 20 years of experience in education, with many of those years dedicated to the students and families in the La Habra, Fullerton, and Buena Park communities. He has served as a Special Education teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

Mr. Bagger has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from California State University Fullerton, a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Azusa Pacific University. Mr. Bagger also has an Education Specialist Credential and an Administrative Services Credential.

Mr. Bagger has led collaborative school teams to develop Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports and Multi-tiered Systems and Supports to increase student achievement. He has presented at national conferences for educating Latinos for the future of America, and the schools he has led have been visited by educators across the county as well as internationally.

Mr. Bagger is a father to two children, Hannah and Jonah, who will both be attending Sonora High School next school year. His wife, Danielle, is a fourth grade teacher in Fullerton. When Mr. Bagger is not at work, he spends time working on his classic Volkswagen or building projects around the house.

Ms. Emily Flesher has served the students and families of LHCSD for the past 22 years in various roles.  Ms. Flesher began her career as a teacher at Sierra Vista Elementary in 2000.  She has since also served as a Teacher on Special Assignment, Assistant Principal, and most recently as the Principal of El Cerrito Elementary for the past 11 years. Ms. Flesher worked collaboratively with the El Cerrito staff to produce an award-winning Computer Science Magnet School. 

Ms. Flesher is currently in the dissertation phase of her doctoral program at Concordia University and has earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. Ms. Flesher’s experience and expertise with Data Analysis, Assessment and Accountability, School Plan Development, Educational Technology, Professional Learning Communities and Student Learning will be a valuable asset in her new role. 

Ms. Flesher is a proud parent to two children: 13-year-old 8th grader, Rylee, and 11-year-old 6th grader, Zoey.
