La Habra City School District Students Receive Top Recognitions at the Cal Poly Pomona Robotics Competition

La Habra City School District is proud to announce that student teams from Las Positas Elementary, Sierra Vista Elementary, Walnut Elementary, El Cerrito Elementary, Ladera Palma Elementary, and Washington Middle School were selected to compete in the annual prestigious Cal Poly Pomona Robotics competition.  

Below are the results for La Habra City School District teams:

  • SUMO Top Performance (Semi-Finalist)
    • Team: AFLAC
    • Students: Joseph Vazquez and Adrian Molina

The Annual Robot Rally is a culminating event held at Cal Poly Pomona.  Hundreds of students from participating schools and afterschool programs from across Southern California visit Cal Poly Pomona and show off their creations after 20 weeks of learning.  Students take part in four, fun-filled, engaging and demanding events that include:

  • Impromptu Obstacle Challenge
  • Sumo Robot Challenge
  • Fast Line Following Challenge
  • Teamwork Challenge
