Visual and Performing Arts Come Alive for the Holidays!

Visual and Performing Arts Come Alive for the Holidays!

Tis the season to be jolly! Students from across the District are performing for packed auditoriums of parents, guardians, families and loved ones. Elementary Choirs led by Betsy Olson are singing the beautiful songs of the Holiday Season. The Imperial and Washington Middle School Bands and Choirs (led by Reina Salcedo, Angelica Love, and Gerardo Carvajal) are bringing the sounds of the season alive through our students beautiful voices and their instrument playing as well.

For the first time ever the Imperial Middle School Band performed at the PTA Luncheon at the La Habra Heights Country Club, for a full house of District administrators, parents and guardians from the La Habra City School District and Lowell Joint School District.  The Imperial Middle School Band also performed for the first time at La Habra High School’s new Performing Arts Theatre.

Project Harmony, our Afterschool VAPA program held at Washington Middle School that featured beginning guitar students and violin players from across our District; performed to grand reviews by proud parents and guardians as well. A fun time had by all, with lots of singing and beautiful music played.

The Washington Middle School Theatre Arts program wrapped up a powerful performance of The Mariachi Girl, led by Eliza Grossman. The live action included great student performances, and acting that was worthy of Academy Awards.

Not to be outdone, our ASES Boys and Girls Club Afterschool program is featuring holiday concerts for parents as well.  These are examples of the many opportunities that our students have to express themselves creatively through the Visual and Performing Arts in the La Habra City School District.
