Students from all around La Habra City School District had an amazing time at this year’s Citrus Fair Student Robot Rally Showcase! The event was packed with exciting STEM activities that let students show off their awesome skills.
The esports tournament was a big hit! Students jumped into the action playing Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers. Students from Sierra Vista, Las Positas, and Walnut all competed racing and battling it out on the screens. Washington Middle School even went head-to-head in Smash Brothers against Macy Intermediate School—and they took home both first and second place!
Outside, Sierra Vista students wowed the crowd by flying drones with incredible control. Inside, El Cerrito students showed everyone how drone soccer is done with a fun and fast-paced match. They also brought their VEX robots to display what they’ve been building and programming—super cool!
Meanwhile, Walnut students were busy running a live podcast all day long. They streamed the whole event on Facebook, sharing interviews, updates, and lots of fun moments so families could follow along from home.
The Robot Rally wasn’t just about winning—it was about learning, trying new things, and working together. Whether it was coding, flying, gaming, or talking on the mic, students had so many chances to shine.
It was a day full of fun, laughter, and learning. We’re so proud of all the students who participated and can’t wait to see what they do next!
