Game On at Washington Middle School!

Washington Middle School’s After-School Sports Program is bringing energy, pride, and purpose to our campus! Our first season kicked off with flag football and volleyball, and the excitement has continued to grow as more students get involved and represent our school with pride.

This season, our boys basketball team and girls soccer team are in action, and our cheerleaders are right alongside them—cheering loud, promoting school spirit, and helping create a positive, encouraging environment for everyone.

After-school sports are more than just games. They help keep our students accountable in the areas that matter most: behavior, attendance, and grades. Student-athletes understand that to stay on the team, they must meet expectations in the classroom and make respectful choices on campus. This connection between academics and athletics motivates students to stay focused, work hard, and represent Washington Middle School in the best way.

Our sports program also gives students something meaningful to look forward to after the final bell. By inviting students to participate in activities they love, we’re building confidence, teamwork, and stronger connections to school. It’s a powerful way to keep students engaged and motivated—both on and off the field.

The excitement doesn’t stop with the athletes. Our home games have had an amazing turnout, with families, staff, and students showing up to support our teams. A special thank you to our amazing coaches—Mr. Al-Jaime, Mrs. Cruz, Mr. Heredia, Mr. Linares, Mr. Petrakis, Mr. Sanchez, Mr. Supple, Mrs. Villegas, and Mrs. Wyer—for their time, dedication, and support of our student-athletes. Thank you to everyone who continues to encourage our students and make these events such a success. Let’s keep the momentum going—Go Patriots!
