At El Cerrito Elementary School, student success is strengthened every day by our dedicated Instructional Assistants (IAs) and Educational Assistants (EAs). These classified staff members are an essential part of our school community, providing daily support that helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Instructional Assistants work closely with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), offering personalized support based on each student’s unique needs. Through strong collaboration with classroom teachers and special education staff, IAs help students build skills, confidence, and independence. Their patience, consistency, and care ensure students feel supported and capable of success.
Educational Assistants support learning through small-group instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics. By reinforcing classroom lessons and providing additional practice, EAs help students strengthen foundational skills in a safe and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.
