Dive into Summer Reading! Sora Sweet Reads will run from May 18 through August 24th!

This summer, La Habra City School District invites students to keep learning, exploring, and growing through the Sora Sweet Reads program. Available from May 18 through August 24, this exciting digital reading initiative provides students with free, unlimited access to a wide variety of engaging books and audiobooks.Reading during the summer months plays a critical role in supporting literacy growth, preventing learning loss, and building creativity and confidence. Through our partnership with Sora, an award-winning digital reading app, students can enjoy 24/7 access to more than 150 high-interest titles designed specifically for grades K–8. Best of all, every title in the Sora Sweet Reads collection is instantly available with no holds or waitlists.

Students can explore a wide range of content, including graphic novels, nonfiction, STEM-focused texts, and casual reads, all organized into fun and engaging categories such as Sleuths, Scares & Puzzles and High Energy Summer. The collection also includes bilingual titles, read-alongs, and built-in tools like text-to-speech, font adjustments, and dictionary support to ensure accessibility for all learners.

Accessing Sora is simple. Students can log in through Clever on their district-issued iPads or download the Sora app on any device. They may also visit soraapp.com/library/lahabraca and sign in using their district Google credentials.

As an added benefit, families can expand their reading options by connecting to the Orange County Public Libraries digital collection for even more free ebooks and audiobooks.

We encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity to read, discover new interests, and continue building strong literacy skills throughout the summer. Questions? Feel free to contact Mrs. Aniko Tegtmeier, District Librarian, at [email protected].
Happy reading!
