Las Positas Open House Celebrates Inquiry, Learning, and Community

Our recent Open House at Las Positas was a vibrant celebration of learning, inquiry, and community. Classrooms came alive as students proudly showcased their work, giving families a firsthand look at the depth and creativity of their learning experiences. From interactive displays to student-led explanations, it was clear that students are not only learning, but actively making meaning of the world around them.

Across campus, each grade level highlighted their current Units of Inquiry, demonstrating how transdisciplinary learning connects subjects in authentic and meaningful ways. Students confidently shared their thinking, reflected on their growth, and explained how they are developing as inquirers, communicators, and thinkers. The use of academic vocabulary and conceptual understanding was evident in every classroom, reflecting strong instructional practices.

Families expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with their children’s learning in such a hands-on way. The pride shared by students, staff, and families was evident throughout the evening.

Events like Open House highlight the power of an IB education to inspire curiosity, build independence, and develop global-minded learners. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to our dedicated staff for creating meaningful learning experiences every day.
