Students Turn Compassion into Action this Spring at Ladera Palma

This spring, a group of students demonstrated that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Through compassion, collaboration, and real-world problem solving, they turned one idea into meaningful action to support those in need.

Kenzlee, inspired by her early experiences, wanted to make a difference for people experiencing homelessness. “I kept wondering… what can I do to fix that?” she shared. With that question in mind, she invited her classmates to join a student-led outreach club. Many students eagerly joined, motivated by a shared desire to help others. As one student explained, “It just feels so sad to have so much when some people have nothing.”

The group applied important skills by creating posters, organizing a fundraiser, and working together toward a common goal. In just one week, they raised $232, which will be donated to organizations supporting foster youth and individuals experiencing homelessness.

Beyond the fundraiser, students developed empathy, leadership, and a deeper understanding of their community. Their efforts reflect a powerful message: no matter your age, you have the ability to make a difference.
