La Habra City School District is Powered by Purpose, and our families and community members are an important part of creating welcoming, supportive schools where every student can thrive. This school year, LHCSD is offering several flexible ways for parents, guardians, and community members to volunteer based on their availability and level of involvement.
Families interested in helping with a single school event can sign up directly with a school team member. On the day of the event, volunteers simply check in at the school’s main office and present identification. This option provides an easy way for families to lend a hand behind the scenes alongside a teacher or staff member without making an ongoing commitment.
Those interested in becoming ongoing volunteers for up to 16 hours per week will need to bring identification to the school office, complete the online volunteer application and mandated reporter training, and obtain TB clearance.
Volunteers participating in field trips or serving 16 or more hours per week complete the same requirements and must also obtain an LHCSD Live Scan form to complete a background clearance.
To make the process more convenient for families, LHCSD is offering TB screenings from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at school health offices throughout August, September, and October:
August 19: El Cerrito / Imperial Middle School
August 26: El Cerrito / Sierra Vista
September 2: Imperial Middle School / Washington
September 9: Sierra Vista / Ladera Palma
September 16: Ladera Palma / Arbolita
September 23: Las Positas / Walnut
September 30: Washington / Walnut
October 7: Arbolita / Las Lomas
October 14: Las Positas / Las Lomas
Whether you have time for one event or want to become a regular volunteer, there is an opportunity to get involved. Every hour volunteered strengthens the connection between our schools, families, and community and helps create meaningful experiences for LHCSD students.
