We are proud to announce that Mrs. Katie Mayfield was named one of the Orange County Educators of the Year by the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE). The surprise announcement unfolded at Arbolita Elementary School, as a vibrant yellow bus delivered the great news to an unsuspecting Mrs. Mayfield.
With over 15 years of experience in education, including her role as an education specialist for students with mild to moderate disabilities, Mrs. Mayfield has made a significant impact at Arbolita where she currently teaches kindergarten.
She fills her classroom with enthusiasm and innovative ideas. Her commitment to addressing the wide range of academic, social, and emotional needs of her students is clear in her daily interactions and specialized teaching approaches.
OCDE will formally honor Mrs. Mayfield at a dinner gala on November 1, 2024 at the Disneyland Hotel, where she will receive a $25,000 award from the Orange County Teachers of the Year Award Foundation, celebrating her outstanding contribution to education in Orange County. Congratulations Mrs. Mayfield!
