TikTok Safety Threat

TikTok Safety Threat

Dear La Habra City School District Families,

The safety and well-being of our students is always our top priority, and we are grateful for your ongoing partnership in this effort. We have been made aware of a troubling nation-wide social media post that has been shared the past few days on the TikTok social media platform.  The post refers to a possible threat on school campuses across the country on Friday, December 17.

The post appears to be a part of a national TikTok trend and did not originate in our school District. As of today, December 16, none of our schools have received any threats and we will have a regular school day as planned.

Out of an abundance of caution, the District has been in communication with the La Habra Police Department (LHPD) regarding this TikTok concern, and we will continue to work with them to ensure the safety of our students and staff. LHCSD will keep our parents and community informed of all relevant safety information.

We encourage you to have important conversations with your child about internet safety.  We would like to remind all staff and students that we continue to practice the Hear Something, See Something and Say Something safety protocols. Please continue to use the District’s communication feedback platform  Let’s Talk to express any concerns or questions. Thank you for your support as we work together to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for our students and staff.  TikTok Safety Threat
