El Cerrito Elementary recently hosted a heartwarming Lunch with a Loved One event that brought together families and students for a joyful day of connection and community. With over 360 students participating, the campus buzzed with laughter and togetherness as Scottie Families shared picnic lunches, played games, and created lasting memories.
The event also featured a showcase of El Cerrito’s Computer Science Magnet program through the Code to the Future Epic Build Showcase. Students proudly demonstrated their Minecraft EDU coding projects, walking visitors through what their agents had built and sharing insights into their coding journeys. It was a powerful moment for students to shine and for families to witness firsthand the exciting possibilities of computer science education. A special thank-you goes out to our dedicated teachers for empowering students to demonstrate their skills and creativity.
The celebrations continued with El Cerrito’s participation in the La Habra City School District’s Passport to Learning Celebration, where the school honored its incredible volunteers. This event served as a heartfelt tribute to the Scottie volunteers whose support and generosity are vital to the success of our school community.
From fostering meaningful family connections to celebrating student innovation and volunteer dedication, El Cerrito’s recent events reflect the vibrant, inclusive spirit that makes the school a welcoming place for all.
