Las Lomas Story Fest Brings Families Together Through Reading

Las Lomas Elementary recently welcomed families to campus for Story Fest, a special celebration of reading held during Read Across America Week. The event gave students the opportunity to share one of the most important parts of learning—reading—with the people they love most.

Families joined their children during lunch to read together and enjoy time with books. Across campus, students proudly shared stories with parents, grandparents, and siblings, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter and connection.

Story Fest was made possible by the dedication of the Las Lomas staff, who worked together to organize the event and welcome families onto campus. Teachers, support staff, and supervisors all played an important role in ensuring the day ran smoothly and that every student had a memorable experience.

Events like Story Fest highlight what makes Las Lomas special. Strong partnerships between school and home support student learning and strengthen our community. Seeing students light up as they shared books with their families was a powerful reminder that reading is not only a skill we teach, but a gift we hope every child carries with them.
