Elementary General Music

Our LHCSD General Music program has now expanded to include all schools in the district. All students grades 3rd-6th receive general music instruction as part of their school week. Students at Arbolita Elementary receive general music instruction grades TK-6. The General Music program allows students to develop basic music skills such as listening, analyzing, and performing music through a district curriculum that aligns to the California State Visual and Performing Arts standards. 

Our general music classes include listening, singing, dance and movement, and playing different percussion instruments. Students at Sierra Vista, Las Lomas, and Arbolita Elementary also participate in weekly piano lessons. Arbolita Elementary also features a choir, where students are able to rehearse and perform multiple times throughout the year. 

We look forward to continuing expanding our General Music program in a way that allows every student to have equal access to music and the arts.
