Ladera Palma Celebrates the Joy of Reading During Read Across America Week

At Ladera Palma, Read Across America Week was a joyful celebration of books, storytelling, and the power of literacy, led by our dedicated first-grade teachers, Mrs. Pulido and Mrs. Madrigal. Each day brought a new and creative way to highlight the magic of reading.

The week began with students showing off their love of books through wacky hair and fun hats, celebrating that reading is for everyone. As the days continued, students wore their favorite school, college, or team shirts, symbolizing how reading opens doors to success and a world of possibilities.

Midweek, the school came together for Trimester 2 Awards, honoring the hard work and achievements of students. It was a perfect reminder that learning and literacy truly make us shine.

Although rainy weather canceled the much-anticipated Book-nic, it gave way to an even more meaningful moment. Sixth graders visited primary classrooms to read to younger students, bringing stories to life and creating memorable connections. Their leadership and love for reading became the highlight of the week.

The celebration wrapped up with students in cozy pajamas, enjoying the simple pleasure of curling up with a good book.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Pulido, Mrs. Madrigal, and everyone who contributed to making the week so special. The love for reading was truly shining bright at Ladera Palma!
