As we close out the school year, we’re proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone at Ladera Palma. Our school was recently awarded the Seal of Excellence from the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE)—an honor given to only six schools across the state. This prestigious recognition affirms the strength and impact of our bilingual education program.
Earlier this year, a team from CABE visited our campus to observe classrooms and speak with staff, students, and families. Their visit confirmed what we’ve long known—our dual immersion program is thriving. When the award was announced at CABE’s 50th Anniversary Conference in Long Beach, our entire team felt an overwhelming sense of pride and validation. This award recognizes our commitment to supporting students in becoming bilingual and biliterate, achieving academic excellence, and growing as socio-culturally competent individuals—the three pillars of a strong dual immersion program.
In addition to this achievement, we’ve also made meaningful progress in expanding Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) and strengthening Tier 2 supports within our PBIS framework, ensuring we meet both the academic and social-emotional needs of our diverse student body.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our entire Ladera Palma team. From our office staff and classroom educators to our counselors, support staff, custodians, and community partners—it truly takes a village. Together, we’ve built a school culture rooted in excellence, equity, and heart.
We are so proud of what we’ve accomplished and look forward to continuing this important work in the year ahead.
