Sierra Vista Students Raise Scholarship funds to Support Future Success

At Sierra Vista, a No Excuses University school, college and career readiness is more than a goal—it’s a mindset woven into every aspect of student life. This year, students took that mindset to heart by leading a school-wide effort to raise funds for a local scholarship that will help a high school senior pursue higher education.

Guided by school counselor Andrea Ramirez and a team of student leaders, students organized a series of fundraising events—from a Holiday Teacher Luncheon donation drive, to a Valentine’s photo fundraiser, to a final loose change collection. Promoted through student-led efforts, each event gave students the opportunity to demonstrate responsibility, creativity, and collaboration, essential skills for future college and career success.

The scholarship will go directly to a graduating senior in the community who exemplifies resilience, determination, and a strong commitment to education. Through this initiative, students didn’t just raise funds—they raised awareness and reinforced the value of giving back and supporting others on their journey.

This project reflects Sierra Vista’s mission to prepare students not only for the next grade level, but for life. By planning, promoting, and participating in this campaign, students developed real-world skills while contributing to a powerful legacy of opportunity.

We are incredibly proud of our students and the example they’re setting. Together, they are building a stronger, more connected community—one scholar at a time.
