Potty Independence

We acknowledge that potty independence is a challenge for many children.  Potty Indepence is defined as a child's ability to identify when they need to use the restroom, remove their clothing, clean themselves, and wash their hands.

In an effort to support our children and families, the La Habra City School District's Health Services team developed resources to facilitate potty independence.  Click on the images below to access the presentation by our district nurse, Rachel Kim, RN.

We do acknowledge that toileting accidents may be more frequent in Transitional Kindergarten (TK).  To support our children when they have a potty accident, it is important that families place a change of clothes, underwear, and socks in their child's backpack.

We can work together to support our children in becoming potty independent!
